Rebirth

Do you know that the winter solstice is Tuesday (today), which is the shortest day of the year? There is also a solar eclipse in the early morning hours, when the earth, the sun, and the moon arrange themselves in a direct line with each other. Together, these three cosmic forces can assist in a powerful re-birth experience.

No need to wait until the New Year, because the energy produced in the solar system on December 21, 2010 creates an opening into a vortex where we can release our old stuff—old patterns, false beliefs, and negative energy of any kind, and this kind of solar-staging only happens about once every four centuries!

Today, spend a few moments and notice how this energy makes you feel. Allow everything that does not serve to simply fall away from you. Feel the cleansing within as old, useless energy is vacuumed out, so to speak—leaving you brand new again.

You can notice this energetic cleansing experience and assist consciously or simply hold on for the ride if you want. But know that it is a time of letting go of the old and embracing the new—the new and better life you know deep down that you want and deserve.

Solstices, eclipses, and energetic forces are words the scientific world uses to describe this phenomenon. A more personal and loving description is found in the gift of our Savior, Jesus Christ, whose birth we coincidentally are celebrating in so many lovely ways this week. Christ came to teach us how to give up all negatives and embrace the gift of love through His atonement, and not just on some particular and special days of the year. This powerful gift of love works 24/7, every day of your life and mine.

As you recognize and accept Christ’s free gift of love, everything that is not love is removed. This is a powerful purification process which I find most of us need and yet so rarely accept. Today, I want to remind all to open your heart and let Christ’s healing in.

Then, how will you fill the void from this cleansing? How will you allow the loving light of Christ to enter and become your constant? What is next on the horizon for you?

May I suggest how I plan to use the energy given to me today and every day? To explain, I will share an interesting experience I recently had as I met the many people who attended my first book signing. I found it fascinating to notice the three types of people who shared that night with me.

First, there were many who walked by my table, looking slightly curious but not daring to really look at what I had to offer. They seemed very busy and intent on their own course, giving me only a few guarded glances towards my display.

The second group included those who saw my books and came over to my table to inquire what it was all about. As they became more acquainted with my offerings, this group seemed to know they needed the information included, but they did not have the time, the money, or the courage to go the distance and buy the book. Maybe later seemed to be their choice.

I found great joy in the third group—the ones who not only saw my books and inquired, but also felt an instant connection with its contents. Many expressed they knew the book was written for them, that they could not leave without it. The book seemed to draw them to it, as if it was speaking directly to them, and they knew it would change their lives for the better. They saw, felt, and knew a connection with the truths, and committed their hearts, their money, and their time to make it a part of their lives.

As this special time of celebration of Christ’s birth approaches, my heart fills with gratitude for my many blessings. Love and people are where I plan to give my focus to fill the empty space in me left from my personal time of cleansing.

Comparing my book signing experience, I want to measure my own reaction to others with these same three styles. Do I merely glance in their direction like the first group? Do I know their presence, even know they may need me, but not give them my whole attention? Do I hear but not listen? Do I see but not past skin deep, like the second group at my book signing?

No, to fill the void of my own cleansing this week, I am choosing to truly open my heart to others—to really see and hear them, and to invite them to share a celebration of love together. As we also choose to see, hear, and remember our connection to a living, purely loving Christ, we can fill our hearts with unspeakable satisfying JOY.

Today is also the day my sweet mother had her rebirth into another world, 26 years ago right about sunset.  I was with her, feeling and hearing the angels singing to welcome her home, which experience has forever changed my perspective of the closeness of heaven.  I witness the great love and tender mercy of God for each of us.
